A Mindscape for Sydney Harbour
This piece was created to celebrate the birthdays of two very special people. It's based on my Mindscapes series (the works that come when you switch off).
Their apartment is one of those gorgeous large airy spaces, made even more special because it overlooks Sydney Harbour. They have a particular view of Sydney Harbour Bridge too - instead of seeing it in 'coathanger' mode, they see it side on. In the evening, they have a mesmerising view of the traffic flowing in and out of the city - red tail lights heading North on the left and white headlights heading South on the right. I wanted that unusual view to be captured in the painting.
It also has the feeling of the Harbour - the water is full of life and colour. Far from a blank blue slate if you stop and take notice. Once again it was a joy to create, especially for such a special occasion.
